Chapter 007: The Sun Queen

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第007章 太阳女王

Life at sea was undoubtedly monotonous.

If there was some excitement at first seeing the ocean, then when everyone grew tired of the unchanging scenery, a sense of boredom would creep in like a stubborn disease.

Fortunately, Wang Bo, Xiao Bai, Xiao Qing, Laura, and Bryce each had ways to dispel the boredom.

Laura, for instance, practiced magic every day, watching her mana slowly grow, mastering mysterious forces and spells; the boredom meant nothing to her.

Bryce was a tech geek; as long as he had his computer, he could stay indoors all day.

Boredom held no meaning for him.

As for Wang Bo, Xiao Bai, and Xiao Qing, they were always together, so naturally they never felt bored.

Thus, what should have been a tedious journey passed quickly amid everyone's busy activities.

A week later, Laura finally piloted the cruise ship to the location recorded in the notes—the Yamatai Kingdom.

The Dragon's Triangle!

As they approached the Dragon's Triangle, Wang Bo became vigilant. Based on his knowledge of the Yamatai Kingdom, this was no place of calm seas.

The ancient Yamatai Kingdom was indeed located on an island here.

And the Sun Queen Himiko, who once ruled the Yamatai Kingdom, could indeed achieve immortality.

But her immortality had limitations.

The Sun Queen Himiko possessed great power, but that power came from her soul, so Himiko could age and die.

However, because Himiko's soul was too powerful, whenever her body approached death, she would select a devout shrine maiden to serve her, tricking her into inheriting her position, while actually performing a soul possession.

In this way, Himiko, with a young body, would live another life.

But this succession was discovered countless years later by a shrine maiden named Xing.

To prevent herself and future innocent girls from suffering, Xing, at the inheritance ceremony, just as the Sun Queen Himiko was about to possess her, pulled out a dagger she had prepared and committed suicide.

Thus, Xing died, the possession ritual was interrupted, and Himiko's soul was trapped inside Xing's body, unable to reincarnate. In a rage, Himiko raised storms around the island, forbidding anyone from leaving.

Without Himiko, the Yamatai Kingdom gradually declined and perished.

But for thousands of years, whenever someone approached, storms would appear, proving that Himiko had not died and was still trapped in Xing's body, unable to escape.

From this, it was clear that the Sun Queen Himiko's power was undoubtedly immense.

Of course, the Himiko Wang Bo knew was from a parallel world.

But since both were Himiko, the Himiko of this world should not be too weak.

In the past, Wang Bo would never have come to such a dangerous place.

But now, having even killed a War God, Wang Bo was brimming with confidence and naturally feared not a half-dead Himiko. If she were alive, he might have been more cautious.

But now, Wang Bo was not afraid at all.

After arriving at the Dragon's Triangle, Wang Bo began to watch the weather. Once a storm arose, he would lead everyone through it and force a landing on the Yamatai Kingdom.

But even as Laura piloted the cruise ship and everyone landed on the Yamatai Kingdom, standing on the sandy shore, Wang Bo saw not a trace of a storm, as if it had never existed.

This was strange. Could he have been wrong? Could the Himiko of this world be less powerful than the one in the parallel world, and had died long ago?

Wang Bo instinctively activated his telescopic vision to observe the Yamatai Kingdom. His gaze passed over the island and saw a huge palace built on the mountain peak, and inside the palace, on the throne, sat a brightly dressed, radiant young girl.

The young and radiant girl seemed to sense someone spying on her. She slightly turned her head, moved her eyes, and in an instant, her gaze met Wang Bo's.

Then, the girl revealed a brilliant smile.

Immediately after, a great force emanated from the girl, blocking Wang Bo's vision.

Wang Bo couldn't help but call out the girl's name...

"Laura?"

"What's wrong, Chris?" Laura, standing beside Wang Bo, heard him call her and couldn't help but glance at him. "Your expression is strange."

Wang Bo looked at Laura, rubbed his temples, and said helplessly, "I saw something incredible."

"Something incredible?" Laura said in surprise.

"Yes." Wang Bo nodded.

This made Laura quite curious. "What exactly did you see?"

"You'll know soon enough."

To be honest, Wang Bo had never encountered such an absurd thing, but it had indeed happened.

Seeing that Wang Bo was unwilling to say more, Laura did not press him. Instead, she warned everyone, "We've arrived at the Yamatai Kingdom. I don't know what's hidden here, but I hope everyone stays alert. My experience tells me this place is dangerous."

The adventurer's unique intuition played an important role here.

Xiao Bai looked around and nodded. "I can feel that someone is watching us. This place is indeed dangerous."

Wang Bo waved his hand and said, "Don't worry. Follow me."

With that, he strode forward.

Laura was startled for a moment, then quickly followed.

Xiao Bai and Xiao Qing, sensing something from Wang Bo's attitude, walked beside him.

Only Bryce said, "Shouldn't we be more careful?"

Wang Bo climbed the mountain path upward. Halfway, they encountered a group of patrolling warriors. These warriors wore ancient armor, but their bodies were withered, like long-dead mummies.

Yet even so, these mummies were still moving.

When the warriors saw Wang Bo and the others, they immediately drew their longswords and charged at them.

Laura's scalp tingled.

Bryce's skin crawled, and he couldn't help saying, "What the hell are these?"

Xiao Bai pointed forward, and golden rays of light descended from the sky, sweeping like lasers, cutting the mummies into pieces.

Laura watched with envy.

After dealing with these living dead, the group continued onward, eliminating several generals patrolling the mountainside along the way.

Soon, led by Wang Bo, they arrived at a grand hall built on the mountain peak.
