Chapter 008: Storm

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第008章 风暴

The hall looked very dilapidated, with traces of repairs everywhere.

Some traces were very fresh, obviously repaired not long ago, definitely within a year.

At the front of the hall sat a giant warrior over three meters tall.

This warrior was dressed like the generals in Japanese films and TV dramas; although the armor was somewhat worn, one could vaguely tell that when it was first made, it must have been very splendid.

Japanese samurai armor differs greatly from European and Chinese armor. European armor emphasizes full-body protection, while Chinese armor mainly focuses on the upper chest area.

Japanese armor falls between European and Chinese styles: it protects the whole body, but only vital parts use better-defensive iron materials.

Parts like the thighs and arms use bamboo strips. Another point is that Japanese armor has a hierarchical nature; the higher the warrior's rank, the more ornate the armor.

Clearly, this warrior must have held a high position in life.

He sat cross-legged on the platform at the front of the hall, seemingly asleep, but when Wang Bo and the others stepped onto the platform, the warrior awakened.

He supported himself with one hand on the ground, stood up, and looked down at Wang Bo and his group.

At the same time, he unhesitatingly drew his weapon—a huge axe—and swung it at their heads.

Before Wang Bo could act, Xiaoqing couldn't resist jumping out and kicking the blade of the axe.

Wang Bo had spent about half a year in the previous world, but Xiaoqing had cultivated in the Time Villa for over a decade, greatly improving her strength through this period of dedicated practice.

Now encountering such a large enemy, she naturally felt eager to try her skills.

So she struck without hesitation.

She kicked the axe blade, unleashing tremendous force; the warrior couldn't hold onto the axe, and Xiaoqing sent it flying with one kick.

But the warrior didn't care about the axe; he raised his fist and punched down at Xiaoqing's head.

Xiaoqing raised her hand and blocked the warrior's fist.

Then she stepped forward, closing into the warrior's embrace, and punched his abdomen with a fist infused with magical power.

The warrior couldn't withstand the force and was sent flying backward, crashing through the hall's door and tumbling inside.

Xiaoqing couldn't help saying, "He's too weak."

Wang Bo curled his lip. These warriors were called Storm Warriors, Himiko's army, controlled by Himiko's soul. They had long died but became undying warriors, still guarding Himiko.

But these warriors had no brains, only their living combat skills and experience, and couldn't adapt flexibly.

So aside from being stronger and more durable, they were nothing special.

An ordinary person with a gun could kill a Storm Warrior.

Let alone a demon like Xiaoqing; Storm Warriors were no match for her or Xiaobai.

After Xiaoqing defeated the Storm Warrior, Wang Bo strode into the hall.

The others followed.

This hall had once been magnificent, but with the passage of time and long neglect, it had decayed. Although recently repaired, it still hadn't regained its former glory.

It only had a bit more historical depth.

Of course, none of that really mattered.

What mattered was that upon entering the hall, everyone immediately saw a young girl in ornate clothes sitting on the throne.

The girl had brown pupils, a signature M-shaped lips, and bright features, looking very familiar to everyone present.

Blais's gaze shifted between Lara and the girl, and he couldn't help exclaiming.

"My God."

Because he found that the girl on the throne was very similar to Lara, but younger.

She was like a younger Lara.

Seeing Wang Bo and the others enter, the girl smiled slightly. "Welcome to my palace."

Lara looked at the girl who resembled her so much and asked, "This is your palace? Who are you?"

"You can call me Himiko."

"What? You are Himiko?" Lara said incredulously. She hadn't expected that the girl who looked like her was actually Himiko.

"Are you joking?" Lara said. Himiko was a person from thousands of years ago; how could she still be alive? Could there really be an elixir of immortality in the world?

Himiko said, "Do you think I would joke with you, Lara Croft?"

"You know who I am?"

"Of course," Himiko said. "Nothing on this island can escape my notice since you set foot here."

Lara couldn't help glancing at Wang Bo and whispered, "Is she telling the truth?"

Himiko laughed, her gaze shifting to Wang Bo. "We meet again."

Lara was startled and asked urgently, "You've met before?"

Xiaobai and Xiaoqing were also surprised; they didn't know Wang Bo had met Himiko.

Wang Bo's expression was somber. "Should I call you Himiko, or Lara?"

"Lara?" Lara exclaimed. She felt things were beyond her imagination; there must be a great secret she didn't know.

Himiko said, "I don't like the name Lara. I prefer Himiko, because I am the Sun Queen."

"You possessed Lara." Wang Bo's gaze carried a hint of murder. The body the Sun Queen Himiko now used was that of the parallel world's Lara Croft.

And also the body of Wang Bo's friend.

"She volunteered," Himiko said. She sensed that Wang Bo was not to be trifled with and didn't want to oppose him.

"I don't know how you did it, but I order you now: get out of Lara's body immediately."

"That won't do," Himiko refused without a second thought.

"Then you leave me no choice." Wang Bo could no longer suppress his anger. In an instant, he teleported in front of Himiko and grabbed for her neck.

"Get out!"

"No way!"

Although Himiko was wary of Wang Bo, she wouldn't just surrender. Seeing Wang Bo move, she instinctively unleashed her power—an invisible storm burst forth from her in an instant.

The violent storm swept out with irresistible force, and with a loud crash, it blew Wang Bo away.

Xiaobai, Xiaoqing, and the others were directly blown out of the hall, landing on the platform outside.

After being blown back, Wang Bo steadied himself in an instant. With a loud shout, he grabbed the air with both hands and violently tore the storm apart.
