Chapter 004: The Ten Plagues

The Legend of the Gods and Ghosts, also known as The Mummy.

In other words, mummy is the real name; the Chinese translation 'The Mummy' (神鬼传奇) is merely a domestic translation.

Wang Bo never expected that he would come to this world just by taking a nap.

This is a movie, but upon careful thought, since I have even obtained superhuman abilities, entering the world of a movie doesn't seem strange.

Wang Bo remembered that when he watched The Mummy 1 back then, he had even looked up the Ten Plagues online.

According to legend, because Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he refused to listen to the repeated requests of Moses and Aaron to let the Israelites leave Egypt, God commanded Moses and Aaron to perform many signs and wonders before Pharaoh, bringing ten plagues upon Egypt.

These ten plagues were, respectively, the plague of locusts, the plague of frogs, the plague of blood, the plague of flies, the plague of lice, the plague on livestock, the plague of boils, the plague of hail, the plague of darkness, and the plague on the firstborn.

In the plot, as Imhotep is resurrected, the plague of locusts appears first.

Then the other disasters unfolded in turn.

Although at the end of the story, everyone worked together to kill Imhotep, can those who died in the disaster be resurrected?

Of course... no!

Can Wang Bo survive the Ten Plagues?

Wang Bo figured... it's touch and go!

This was the main reason why Wang Bo's expression turned sour.

Although he had acquired superhuman strength, Wang Bo, in order to keep himself from becoming stronger, had always been suppressing his own power, which also resulted in his remaining very weak.

In the plot, Black Adam once fought against Superman.

Black Adam can summon lightning, and a single bolt can kill many people, but it just can't kill Superman.

Thus it can be seen that the Superman's magic defense far exceeds that of ordinary people; it's just that compared to his physical defense, it is so poor that people jokingly say his magic defense is negative.

But in reality, Superman's magic defense is genuinely not low; it's just that it cannot be compared to his physical defense.

However, that refers to proper superhumans. For a rookie weakling like Wang Bo, even his physical defense is pitifully low, let alone his magic defense.

Wang Bo figured that his magic defense was actually that of an ordinary person.

If the ten plagues descended, he would very likely become one of their victims.

Just then, two Egyptian soldiers in uniform walked in, came to O'Connell's cell door, and said, "You are Rick O'Connell."

According to the movie's plot, O'Connell had no one to rely on in Egypt and no relatives; there was only one person who would come to this hellish prison to see him.

That was the female lead who was proficient in ancient Egyptian and released Imhotep... Evelyn!

In the story, when Evelyn found O'Connell, he was not at all surprised and immediately stated the purpose of her visit... Hamunaptra!

Clearly, this fellow has a scale in his heart.

For this very reason, when he heard that someone wanted to see him, he said those words to Wang Bo, believing that he might very well leave this godforsaken place.

And indeed it was so.

Although there were some twists and turns, O'Connor did manage to leave this godforsaken prison smoothly.

But Wang Bo couldn't do that—he wasn't as important as O'Connell. Even if he knew where Hamunaptra was, no one would come to rescue him, so he could only save himself.

Fortunately, Wang Bo had already become non-human; a mere iron door was no obstacle for him. If he wished, he could destroy the iron cell door at any time. But not now.
