Chapter 025: Wild Ideas

After seeing off Laura's companions, Wang Bo turned and said helplessly to Laura, "Your friend has quite the wild imagination."

Laura said, "Samantha just loves the legend of the Sun Queen Himiko too much, that's all. She means no harm."

"I know." Wang Bo nodded. If Samantha had any ill intent, he would have taught her a lesson without mercy, just as he had taught Whitman earlier.

"Now you can rest assured; your friends are all safe."

"Thank you." Laura stepped forward and hugged Wang Bo again. "If it weren't for you, I could never have saved my friends so easily. Ross, Grim, Samantha—they would have... I'm so grateful to you, Wang Bo. Thank you for being willing to help me like this."

"We're friends, aren't we?" Wang Bo said with a righteous air.

"Just friends?" Laura released Wang Bo and said teasingly.

Wang Bo couldn't help but smile bitterly. "I admit, I have some ulterior motives toward you, but you've seen, Laura, I'm not a devoted man."

"I can tell." Laura hadn't forgotten that Wang Bo had Xiao Bai and Xiao Qing, two stunningly beautiful Eastern women, and in the Time Villa, there was a whole host of demon women with devilish figures.

Whenever she saw these women, Laura felt she could hardly breathe.

"If only you could be a little more devoted, how wonderful that would be." Laura said with some resentment.

Wang Bo had done so much for her; it would be a lie for Laura to say she wasn't moved. In fact, if Wang Bo weren't so unfaithful, she would have kissed him without hesitation now, or even actively pursued him.

Wang Bo shrugged. "You know, Laura, I'm now a long-lived being. Barring accidents, I can live for hundreds, thousands, even tens of thousands of years. If I had to face only one woman in such a long time, I'd die of loneliness, Laura."

Laura was taken aback, then sighed and said, "Fine, you always have your reasons."

"Alright, let's drop it here." Wang Bo could see that Laura was unlikely to accept a promiscuous man, so he decided to end the topic. Though Laura was charming and stirred his heart, there were plenty of charming women across the myriad worlds; Wang Bo didn't lack just Laura.

If they couldn't be lovers, being friends was fine too.

Wang Bo didn't have that perverse possessiveness of wanting to bed every woman he met.

"Since your friends are all safe, let's now deal with the last problem."

Laura suddenly realized, "You mean Himiko."

"Exactly." Although Wang Bo had killed Himiko once in the future world, that was the future. From the moment Wang Bo returned to the past, the future was destined to change.

So Wang Bo now decided to resolve the issue of Himiko.

Laura nodded slightly. "I agree with your view. What do you plan to do?"

Wang Bo raised two fingers and said, "Divide and conquer. I'll take care of all the Stormguard on the island, and you'll take care of all the members of the Sun Brotherhood on the island."

Laura was taken aback, then nodded and said, "No problem."

Though she hadn't yet seen any members of the Sun Brotherhood, the fact that Samantha had been sacrificed by them wouldn't change, so Laura didn't mind striking at them.

Having made their decision, the two split up.

Wang Bo set out along the mountaintop to find the Stormguard guarding Himiko.

These half-dead creatures might be terrifying monsters to ordinary people, but to Wang Bo, they were just grunts.

Spotting a Stormguard through his sight, Wang Bo charged straight at it and swept a Shattering Curse across. Every Stormguard that appeared before Wang Bo was shattered to pieces by the spell.

Then Wang Bo would find another Stormguard and throw a Shattering Curse at it.

Coupled with Wang Bo's incredible speed, within about half an hour, all the Stormguards inside the Yamatai Kingdom were killed by Wang Bo.

This time they were dead beyond dead, with no chance of coming back.

After dealing with the Stormguard, Wang Bo arrived at the highest altar of the Yamatai Kingdom.

Himiko's half-dead body lay there.

Near the altar, besides the Stormguard Wang Bo had killed, a storm raged day and night, protecting the already decayed, unrecognizable corpse.

Wang Bo easily passed through the storm and reached the altar.

A woman dressed in traditional Japanese clothing knelt at the top of the altar, head bowed.

But Wang Bo clearly saw that within this decayed skeleton, a ferocious woman howled day and night, and this howling turned fearful upon Wang Bo's arrival.

Clearly, Himiko had sensed Wang Bo.

She felt Wang Bo's power and feared he would harm her, so she conjured an invisible storm around herself to protect her.

Wang Bo smiled and was about to shatter Himiko into pieces when a thought struck him.

He was now in the past. If Wang Bo hadn't come to this point in time,

then according to normal development, Matthias would capture Samantha and sacrifice her to Himiko.

Himiko would be resurrected.

But shortly after Himiko's resurrection, the Yamatai Kingdom of this world would swap with the Yamatai Kingdom of another world.

Thus, Wang Bo would smoothly return to the world of the mature Laura.

And Himiko would follow Wang Bo back.

At that point, Himiko would become what is called a time traveler.

If Wang Bo acted and sent Himiko back to this world, wouldn't he get another chance to draw a prize?

After Himiko returned, Laura could kill her—wouldn't that be a win-win?

Laura would get her revenge, and Wang Bo would get his chance to draw.

This was a golden opportunity.

Wang Bo immediately suppressed his killing intent and did not attack Himiko.

Instead, he called Xiao Bai and Xiao Qing out of the Time Villa and discussed the feasibility of this plan with them.

Xiao Bai thought it over and nodded in agreement.

But Xiao Qing couldn't help letting her imagination run wild and said, "We could even do this: doesn't that mean that in the future, whenever we encounter a time traveler, we send them back, then use the Moonlight Box to return to the past, meet the time traveler we haven't sent back yet, send them back again, and repeat this to farm rewards?"

Wang Bo shook his head with a smile. "You're beautiful, but don't think too beautifully. Such a loophole can't exist."

"Why not?" Xiao Qing asked indignantly.
