Chapter 013: Feeding the Demon
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第013章 喂养恶魔
If Wang Bo kept replicating like this, it wouldn't be long before he could have an army of Ghost Riders.
Wang Bo had to admit that the Replication Mirror was indeed his cheat device.
With so many spirits, Wang Bo needed some loyal subordinates, but the problem was that he didn't have any humans truly loyal to him.
There was, however, a group of Kryptonians loyal to him.
But the question was, wouldn't it be a waste to turn Kryptonians into Ghost Riders?
If Kryptonians grew up, each would become a world-shattering powerhouse; even if they weren't as strong as the original Superman, few could match them. Using them to create Ghost Riders was indeed wasteful.
Just then, Wang Bo couldn't help but think of the demons under his command.
If he let his demons devour this spirit, what effect would it have? Could it make his demons even stronger?
Wang Bo thought for a moment and summoned a demon from the Time Villa.
As soon as the demon appeared, it let out a piercing scream. The Church of Saint Michael radiated a glorious light, suppressing the demon, as if trying to purify it.
Wang Bo slapped his forehead and quickly cast a barrier to block the holy power.
He had been so absorbed in his wild thoughts that he almost forgot this was the Church of Saint Michael.
"Master."
The demon glanced at the church with lingering fear, black smoke rising from its body. It had come close to being completely purified, but it dared not complain about Wang Bo, as its life and death were in his hands.
Wang Bo handed over a spirit and asked, "Can you devour it?"
The demon's eyes involuntarily showed a glint of greed, but then it shook its head and said, "Sorry, my master, there is a powerful will inside; I cannot devour it."
"Will?"
Wang Bo immediately thought of Zarathos!
He had always wondered whether the spirit inside Johnny Blaze was the Spirit of Vengeance or Zarathos. Now he was certain it was Zarathos.
Zarathos was also an ancient elemental demon lord, but he had been unlucky. Long ago, he was defeated by the original Spirit of Vengeance, losing most of his power and turning into a rock.
Although he was later resurrected, having lost most of his power, Zarathos had to slowly recover his full strength by periodically absorbing human souls.
So he used the one who resurrected him to establish a demon-worshipping tribe. Relying on the powerful strength Zarathos granted, this tribe conquered and enslaved captives from other tribes through war, and even offered their own people's souls to their god—Zarathos—for him to absorb and devour.
Zarathos's rampant behavior on Earth caught the attention of another Hell Lord, Mephisto. Since Mephisto himself was a demon who relied on absorbing human souls for energy, he saw Zarathos as a potential threat.
In the end, Zarathos was tricked by Mephisto. Mephisto turned Zarathos's body back into a stone statue and smashed it, then enslaved his soul and erased his memories in Hell.
In the following years, Mephisto transplanted Zarathos into different humans for experiments, to harness Zarathos's essence for his own use.
Over a decade ago, he transplanted Zarathos into Johnny Blaze, creating a new Ghost Rider.
But after Johnny Blaze became the Ghost Rider, he was defeated by Wang Bo.
Even the spirit inside him was extracted by Wang Bo.
Although Zarathos's memories had long been erased, his will remained strong, beyond the ability of Wang Bo's demons to devour.
Wang Bo thought, if one demon couldn't devour Zarathos, what about ten demons, a hundred demons, a thousand demons? Would that work?
Wang Bo immediately asked the demon.
The demon nodded and said, "No problem, master."
Wang Bo smiled, took a large number of spirits into the Time Villa, gathered the demons inside, and released a replicated Zarathos from the barrier.
The demons, already poised to strike, swarmed over and devoured Zarathos.
This was a demon lord, no less in status than the seventy-two pillars of Hell. Although he had lost most of his power and memories, he was still powerful.
But the demons didn't care about that; they only knew that the Zarathos before them was an absolutely exquisite feast.
Zarathos barely had time to let out a scream before being torn to pieces by the demons.
Then Wang Bo released more than a dozen replicated versions of Zarathos.
The wills of these replicated Zarathoses were not as strong as the original, but there were many of them. After being devoured by the demons, some demons underwent earth-shaking changes.
Wang Bo saw some female demons become even more beautiful, and male demons become even more handsome.
More importantly, their magical power began to swell, instantly increasing dozens of times.
In the Hell they once inhabited,
low-level demons were cannon fodder, living at the very bottom of Hell with no dignity.
But rising to mid-level demons was entirely different. Mid-level demons were the mainstay of Hell; one could annihilate a hundred low-level demons with ease.
High-level demons were the upper echelons of Hell, possessing vast territories and numerous slaves. With a word or a gesture, they could decide the life or death of hundreds of thousands, even millions of demons.
Above them were the seventy-two pillars, each more terrifying than the last.
After this round of devouring, at least several dozen of Wang Bo's low-level demons successfully advanced to mid-level demons. But seeing this, Wang Bo couldn't help shaking his head.
To be honest, it was a bit wasteful.
If Wang Bo had used the replicated Zarathoses to create Ghost Riders, he could have made more than a dozen Ghost Riders. Once these Ghost Riders grew up, they would be no less than high-level demons, perhaps even surpassing them.
But using them to feed demons only resulted in a few dozen mid-level demons.
Any fully grown Ghost Rider could easily kill these few dozen mid-level demons.
So in Wang Bo's view, using Zarathos to feed demons was far too wasteful.
It would be better to keep them to create an army of Ghost Riders.
As for these demons, there were other things to feed them, like Sadako, Kayako, Freddy, Jason—these were all good nourishment for demons.
If he encountered such beings, Wang Bo would definitely capture them, replicate them, and give them to his demons.
