Chapter 015 Invitation

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第015章 邀请

Wang Bo sighed and shook his head, refusing Hela. "You like to trade your own happiness, but I don't. I prefer mutual affection."

Hela frowned. "Becoming the prince of Asgard will grant you immense power and status."

Wang Bo said, "I'm not interested in power or status."

Hela sneered. "Hypocrite."

She knew better than anyone that Wang Bo had crowned himself king in the Lonely Mountain, commanding humans and dragons, making the dwarves work for him, forging powerful armor and weapons—all signs of a man ready for great undertakings. Yet now he claimed no interest in power or status.

If that wasn't hypocrisy, what was?

Wang Bo shrugged noncommittally at Hela's assessment. "Anyway, I'm not interested in being Asgard's prince."

Hela narrowed her eyes. "Then what do you want?"

Wang Bo was taken aback.

Hela continued, "As long as you help me defeat Mephisto, I'll agree to whatever you want."

Wang Bo hadn't expected Hela to persist, tempting him with such terms.

But he had to admit, he was tempted.

"You'll agree to any condition?"

"Of course." Hela nodded.

"What if I said I want you to become my subordinate?"

Hela's face twisted into a mocking smile. "You just said you had no interest in power or status, and now you want to claim all of Asgard. You're even more hypocritical than I imagined."

Wang Bo rolled his eyes. "I meant I want you as my subordinate, not that I want Asgard. You really think Asgard is yours."

Hela said calmly, "I am the first heir to Asgard's throne. Asgard has always been mine."

"You're dreaming," Wang Bo said bluntly. "The first heir to Asgard isn't you; it's your brother, Thor, the God of Thunder."

"So what?" Hela said menacingly. "Once I return, I'll kill Odin, then Thor, and I'll become Asgard's king."

Wang Bo covered his face. Odin and Hela were truly a model of filial piety.

"Anyway, that's my condition. If you agree, I'll help you take down Mephisto. If not, forget it."

Hela fell into thought.

After some deliberation, she agreed. "Fine. As long as you help me become the Lord of Hell, I'll be your subordinate."

Wang Bo was surprised. "Are you sure?"

In his eyes, Hela was not a woman who would submit to anyone. As an adult, she had refused to obey even her own father, raised the banner of rebellion, and slaughtered Odin's Valkyrie corps. How could she submit to someone like him?

Hela said, "Yes, I'm sure."

Wang Bo looked at her suspiciously, then suddenly asked, "You're not planning to pretend to agree now, then renege once you've grown strong enough, are you?"

Hela's heart skipped a beat. In truth, that was exactly her plan: use Wang Bo to become Hell's ruler, then use him to return to Asgard, kill Odin and Thor, and become Asgard's king.

By then, with her power and the forces of Hell and Asgard, she could easily defy Wang Bo.

"Don't worry. I'm a woman of my word," Hela said slowly. "I will never break a promise."

Wang Bo nodded. "Alright, I'll trust you this once."

Hela smiled slightly and bowed her head. "Hela greets Lord Wang Bo."

Though it was humiliating, it was nothing compared to becoming Hell's ruler and Asgard's king. Once she had grown strong, she could reclaim all this humiliation.

During her imprisonment by Odin, Hela had reflected on herself many times.

She had ended up in this state because she was too young, too easily pleased with small achievements, thinking she had surpassed Odin when she was far from his equal.

If she had been more patient, calmer, more mature, and had waited until she understood Odin's true strength before acting, perhaps it would have been Odin imprisoned, not her.

But she had already paid the price for her immature past. Now, she needed to be patient. Bowing to others temporarily was nothing.

One day, when she had grown strong enough, with power and influence, she could control her own destiny and bow to no one.

And that day was not far off.

Wang Bo looked at the bowed Hela, thinking how difficult this must be for her—the daughter of Odin, the first heir to Asgard's throne, bowing to a human.

Was power really that important?

Still, since she was willing to bow, Wang Bo was willing to help her.

But given their strength, even if they could suppress Mephisto in Hell, defeating him might be another matter. Wang Bo needed help.

At this level, few could assist him.

Counting them, only Milo of Scorpio came to mind.

As a Saint, Milo's power in other worlds should not be underestimated. Even in Hell, he could crush any demon except Mephisto.

But this time, Wang Bo didn't plan to call on Milo.

He had a better helper.

For instance, one of the seventy-two pillars of Hell, Lady Gremory.

Wang Bo immediately drew a magic circle to contact the demon and informed her of his purpose.

Lady Gremory was very interested in invading a Hell and defeating a Hell Lord. She said, "I can help you, but I want Mephisto."

Back in the Tang world, she had been careless and let Mephisto bind her, allowing Bael to take the spoils.

This time, she was determined to drain Mephisto of all his power and knowledge.

"Agreed."

Wang Bo nodded. Hela only wanted to become Hell's ruler; she had no interest in Mephisto. In fact, if Lady Gremory took Mephisto away, it would be good for Hela.

Without Mephisto, Hela could more easily control that Hell.

"Good. I'll give you a summoning array now. Once you reach that world's Hell, use it to summon me."

Lady Gremory transmitted the knowledge of an extremely complex summoning array to Wang Bo. This array could summon her true body. Since they were dealing with Mephisto, a mere projection would be useless in battle.

So this time, Lady Gremory planned to go to that Hell in person.
