Chapter 039: Cats and Dogs
获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第039章 猫和狗
Catwoman was very angry.
A grown man actually had the nerve to want to move into his own home. Who did he think he was—a universally beloved dollar bill, or a young master with piles of cash?
This is impossible!
Catwoman reminded herself that she would never let a grown man move into her home; her sacred boudoir would absolutely not allow a man to defile it.
"What, you're not willing?" Wang Bo asked, seeing that Catwoman had been silent for a long time.
Catwoman said loudly, “Of course I… am willing!”
At this moment, the catwoman hated herself deeply. She hated her own weakness, hated that she could not defeat the other, hated that the other knew her identity.
So she had to yield.
Half an hour later, her apartment, which had not seen a man in a long time, finally welcomed its first man in years.
After entering the house, Catwoman took off her shoes and put on slippers. "Let's get this straight first. Even though you know my identity, don't think you can use it to threaten me into sleeping with you. I won't agree to that. Also, you are not allowed to enter my bedroom, not even a single step. You can only sleep on the sofa. If you're not willing to agree to these terms, then we'll just go our separate ways."
Wang Bo knew that this was probably Catwoman's bottom line, so he nodded and agreed.
"No problem, Miss Selina Kyle."
Catwoman breathed a sigh of relief, stepped across the floor into her bedroom, and slammed the door shut with a loud thud.
It was clear that she was very angry.
Wang Bo shrugged. He knew perfectly well that Catwoman had taken a dislike to him—he was clearly an uninvited guest here—but what could he do? He had run into her.
If he hadn't met Catwoman on the rooftop, Wang Bo wouldn't have changed his mind on the spur of the moment.
This was his luck, and also the catwoman's misfortune.
Wang Bo plopped down onto the sofa and looked around the room, taking in the house.
He had initially thought that Catwoman would live in a very high-end villa, after all, she had invested quite a lot over the years. However, to Wang Bo's surprise, the place where Catwoman lived turned out to be a very ordinary apartment.
This apartment was not large, only a few dozen square meters or so.
Sofa, coffee table, refrigerator, dining area, television, and other things filled the entire room to the brim. Many paintings hung on the walls, most of them the Catwoman's trophies.
However, none of these are world-famous paintings.
After all, every world-famous painting is a treasure of the world. If Catwoman had really stolen them, it would have caused a huge uproar, and she might have already been thrown into prison by now.
Thus it can be seen that Catwoman is not a woman blinded by money.
This guy still has quite a sense of proportion.
"Meow!"
Just then, a soft meow suddenly came from under the sofa. Wang Bo looked down and saw, to his surprise, two cats lying under the sofa.
One white, one black.
In the West, black cats are regarded as a symbol of ill omen, but the catwoman seemed to have no such qualms.
After all, she was just a catwoman dressed entirely in black.
Cats are very cute and highly arrogant animals. Unlike dogs, cats never look down on you for being poor, nor will they cling to you because you're rich.
Because whether you have money or not, in a cat's eyes, you are nothing more than a poop scooper.
However, compared to cute cats, Wang Bo prefers dogs.
Because dogs are more loyal than cats.
In this world, there is only the saying of a loyal dog; no one has ever heard the term 'loyal cat'.
Wang Bo's fondness for dogs had been long-standing; he had liked them very much since childhood. Of course, he did not dislike cats, but if he were to choose an animal to keep, Wang Bo would choose a dog rather than a cat.
So when he saw these two very cute cats, Wang Bo did not feel an itch to act, let alone have the idea of picking them up and petting them.
Perhaps others would be overjoyed by petting cats.
But Wang Bo would not.
So after glancing at the two cats on the sofa, he withdrew his gaze, picked up the remote control on the coffee table, and turned on the TV.
A Spiderman anime was playing on TV. Wang Bo was quite surprised, but he watched it with great interest.
After a moment, Wang Bo heard the bedroom door creak open. He turned his head and saw the catwoman emerge, having changed into ordinary loungewear.
This was a very loose short-sleeved pajama top, with three cats playing printed on the front.
This pajama top was very long, covering Catwoman's knees and hiding her slender thighs.
Only two pale calves were exposed to the air.
Catwoman walked out of the bedroom and saw Wang Bo sitting cross-legged, watching TV, as if he were at home, and she immediately became furious.
Damn it, if she could beat this guy, she would teach him a good lesson.
“You look quite comfortable,” the catwoman said sourly.
"Not bad." Wang Bo replied.
The catwoman snorted coldly, walked to the open kitchen, opened the refrigerator, took out a can of cold drink, and was about to close the door when she suddenly heard Wang Bo say, "Get me one too, thanks."
The catwoman grew even angrier; this guy was really taking liberties.
"Don't you have any sense of being a guest?" she said, hurling the cold drink in her hand viciously at the back of Wang Bo's head.
It was as if Wang Bo had eyes in the back of his head; he raised his hand and caught the flying cold drink behind him.
"We're all so familiar with each other, no need to stand on ceremony."
"When did I become familiar with you?" the Catwoman retorted.
"I know your name, and you know mine—just that alone puts us ahead of over ninety percent of strangers, who don't even know our names."
Wang Bo was full of fallacious arguments.
The catwoman said nothing, thinking to herself: 'One day I will beat you to death.'
Then she took a can of cold drink from the fridge and prepared to return to the bedroom. She didn't want to have any communication with this bastard right now.
"By the way, there's something I need to trouble you with."
"Impossible!" Upon hearing Wang Bo's words, the Catwoman instinctively refused. "Taking you in is already my limit. I will absolutely not do anything for you—I am not your subordinate."
She was unwilling to help this madman do anything that defied heaven and reason.
"Don't worry, there will be compensation." Wang Bo said.
When the catwoman heard there was a reward, she was somewhat tempted, but she said, "I won't kill anyone, and I certainly won't plant bombs."
She decided to listen to what Wang Bo had to say; if it was something too outrageous, she would refuse without hesitation.
"I don't kill people either," Wang Bo said, but this remark drew Catwoman's mockery. Wang Bo, however, paid no heed and continued, "I hope you can help me contact someone."
