Chapter 019: A One-Sided Rout

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第019章 碾压局

To be honest, this wasn't the first time Haginuki had dealt with these men in black.

A few days ago, she had stumbled upon several men in black fighting a strange individual, and as a result, the men in black had pursued her. However, Haginuki didn't take this group seriously.

They were merely ordinary humans, ants in her eyes.

But unexpectedly, these ants possessed very strange weapons—not ordinary firearms, but something far more powerful. Caught off guard, Haginuki suffered a loss.

This enraged Haginuki, and she slaughtered them all like cutting vegetables.

Haginuki thought the matter would end there, but she never expected to encounter so many men in black tonight, recalling the events of a few nights ago.

The cunning Haginuki naturally knew that this group was targeting her.

So she decisively killed the man who tried to unite them, releasing a powerful demonic aura that corroded their bodies and minds.

Sure enough, the weaklings immediately went mad, attacking their own comrades.

Those strange weapons once again displayed considerable lethality, making Haginuki even more vigilant.

But Haginuki soon discovered that these firearms seemed to have a delay; as long as she wasn't hit on the spot, there was generally no major problem.

This discovery relaxed Haginuki, and her laughter grew more unrestrained.

"Die for me!"

With a casual wave, her pitch-black demonic aura turned into a shockwave that swept outward. Any member of the Black Ball team caught in it was instantly torn to shreds by the aura, and even wearing reinforced suits was of little use.

The reinforced suits that had once aided them were now as fragile as paper before this demonic aura.

Under Haginuki's attack, the Black Ball team members scattered like headless flies, terrified and fleeing in all directions, unable to mount any effective resistance.

Anyone who dared to oppose Haginuki was eliminated on the spot.

"Kato, run!"

Kei Kurono, already paralyzed with fear at the sight, grabbed Kato Masaru and joined the fleeing crowd.

Such a monster was simply unbeatable.

But just then, a flash of light appeared behind Haginuki—a sharp, unmatched long sword, swinging decisively at her neck.

Yet the next second, Haginuki's tail swept out, sending an invisible man flying.

After landing, the man revealed his form, his arm twisted, staring at Haginuki in terror.

"How is this possible..."

Haginuki sneered, "Did you think hiding your form would let you approach me? How naive. Even if you conceal your form, you can't hide your scent, human."

The next second, a tachi shot out from Haginuki's tail, piercing the man's head.

Three-Tail Tachi!

Haginuki's tails were as dexterous as human arms, capable of wielding various weapons. Besides this tachi, her other tails concealed deadly instruments.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Suddenly, heavy footsteps sounded. Haginuki turned to see, amidst the chaotic fleeing crowd, a person in an enhanced reinforced suit charging toward her.

This scene caught the attention of many Black Ball members, who couldn't help but exclaim.

While everyone else was fleeing in panic, this guy charged like a warrior—it was truly impressive.

Moreover, the enhanced reinforced suit resembled a small fortress.

It gave such a sense of security.

One look and you knew it was powerful; maybe it could defeat that monster.

A disdainful smile curled at the corner of Haginuki's mouth. She had seen too many fools who thought they could defeat her with external tools over her long demonic life.

This guy wasn't the first, nor would he be the last.

That strange suit did look formidable, but that was all.

Three-Tail Tachi!

As the two closed in, Haginuki flicked her tail. They passed each other, and Haginuki smoothed her wind-tousled hair, but the man in the enhanced reinforced suit was cut in half, his entrails spilling out, dead on the spot.

In an instant, all members of the Black Ball team broke down. All their courage was extinguished by Haginuki. No one dared to attack her anymore; everyone panicked and fled.

Haginuki raised her hand, gathering a large amount of demonic aura, intending to annihilate them all and teach them a lesson.

But just then, her vision blurred, and she found herself inside a palace.

This was the interior of the Jingū Taiheiden. Haginuki had been staying here temporarily and knew the structure well.

"Who is it?" Haginuki immediately realized she couldn't have appeared here for no reason; someone must have brought her. Who could teleport her here without her consent?

This world didn't even have proper demons, yet there was someone like this.

Could it be that, like herself, this person was also from another world?

The next second, Wang Bo appeared before Haginuki, only seven or eight meters away. "Nice to meet you, Miss Haginuki. I am Wang Bo, the one who will send you home."

"Send me home?" Haginuki eyed Wang Bo warily, dense demonic aura gathering in her hand, ready to strike at any moment.

Wang Bo said calmly, "Yes. For some reason, you came to this world, and my job is to send people like you back to your own world."

Haginuki stared coldly at Wang Bo, inwardly guessing how much of his words were true and how much false. "May I ask you a few questions?" she suddenly said.

"Of course," Wang Bo nodded.

"Who are you?" Haginuki asked.

"I am Wang Bo."

"What is your purpose?" Haginuki pressed.

"To send you home."

"Why do you want to do this?"

"Because it's my job."

Haginuki frowned. "You say it's a job. Why do you do this job? Or rather, who do you work for?"

"I do this because of a request from a certain multiversal deity, and I work for that deity." Wang Bo answered methodically, just as he had said—if he could answer, he would not be vague.

After a series of questions and answers, Haginuki finally understood something of Wang Bo's origin and purpose.

But she wasn't sure whether what he said was true or a lie.

As a fox, she could normally see through human hearts and lies, but for some reason, her methods failed against Wang Bo.
