Chapter 018: Too Late

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第018章 来晚了

The Deep Ones were a race that had never appeared on Earth.

To humanity, they were a complete unknown. If they could obtain these corpses for experiments, who knew what gains they might make? At the very least, in biology, there would surely be astonishing discoveries.

That was the thinking of the military scientists.

So they immediately dispatched soldiers to seal off the scene and seize the corpses.

But unfortunately, they acted quickly, yet Wang Bo was even faster. After recalling the Heavenly Soldiers, he burned the corpses to ashes, thwarting the military's plans.

No wonder that soldier had shouted at Wang Bo, disregarding his own life.

Wang Bo believed that many people, upon seeing this, would beat their chests and stamp their feet, cursing in anger, thinking Wang Bo was wasting precious resources. But what did that have to do with Wang Bo?

The Deep Ones were too sinister; who knew what the military scientists might develop from them.

If they developed something they shouldn't, the whole world would suffer.

Don't think it impossible. Wang Bo hadn't forgotten that this wasn't an ordinary world, but the Marvel universe. In this world, anything was possible.

Look at Marvel Zombies, for instance.

Who knew what the zombie virus really was? Even superheroes were inevitably infected. Some superheroes were already non-human, yet they still got infected.

So Wang Bo dared not gamble with the entire world.

Burning the Deep Ones' bodies was safer. As for the military's anger and frustration, Wang Bo couldn't care less.

Wang Bo sneered as he swept his gaze over the military personnel. After the solar fire had reduced the Deep Ones' corpses to ashes, he turned and left.

The soldier roared, "No, you can't leave!"

But with a teleport, Wang Bo vanished from his sight.

In an instant, Wang Bo appeared atop Big Ben, London's most famous landmark. Looking down from above, he sensed no spatial fluctuations.

But he did see a large group of soldiers wreaking havoc across London.

These soldiers wore WWII-era uniforms, and each could unleash powerful shockwaves that effortlessly destroyed cars and buildings. Under their attacks, fragile human bodies were instantly reduced to pulp.

Wang Bo immediately realized he was too late. These creatures had been in London for a while. From the destruction they'd caused, at least several thousand, maybe tens of thousands, had died.

And the number was still climbing.

London had responded, sending fighter jets for support, but the situation remained grim.

Clearly, the enemy's strength was beyond imagination.

Wang Bo couldn't help but sigh. He opened his mouth and spat out a sword aura.

The sword aura blazed brilliantly. Under Wang Bo's command, it soared into the sky. Upon reaching a certain height, it suddenly burst apart, scattering like a torrential downpour across all of London.

Each raindrop was a tiny sword aura.

These sword auras fell from the sky, landing indiscriminately on everyone. For ordinary people, they had no effect. For the injured, the sword aura transformed into pure true qi, nourishing them and speeding up wound healing.

For enemies, the sword aura would explode, layer by layer from the inside out, shredding them to pieces.

In just a few minutes, Wang Bo had slain most of these WWII soldiers.

Wang Bo also realized that these WWII soldiers had likely been on some battlefield, then somehow ended up in London and started rampaging.

Clearly, they were soldiers of the Third Reich.

But what astonished Wang Bo was which world these soldiers came from, that they were so powerful, even able to release electric shockwaves.

This was terrifying.

While Wang Bo acted, Hela didn't idle either. She targeted the most destructive soldier, flew over, took him as her opponent, and casually lopped off his head.

Even in death, the soldier wore an expression of utter disbelief, as if he never expected a woman to take his head.

But for Hela, this was just routine.

The two were not on the same level; their strength was worlds apart. If Hela got serious, she wouldn't need a second move to kill this guy—one move would suffice.

After Wang Bo eliminated most of the enemies with one move, and Hela took out the strongest, the rest were no longer a threat. The fighter jets soaring over London could handle all remaining enemies.

Wang Bo sensed repeatedly, confirming that the spatial fluctuations had vanished. He couldn't help but sigh.

He was fairly certain that the three spatial fluctuations had occurred almost simultaneously. While Wang Bo was dealing with the one in San Francisco, these soldiers had already entered this world and begun attacking London.

Then, the spatial fluctuations disappeared, leaving these people stranded in London of this world.

At that time, Wang Bo was still in the Deep Ones' world.

After returning, he disposed of the Deep Ones' bodies and immediately came to London, but it was still too late.

The spatial fluctuations had vanished, and the enemy had already invaded London.

London had also reacted, gathering firepower to annihilate the enemy.

In fact, even without Wang Bo's intervention, London's forces could have wiped out the enemy, but there would have been heavy casualties.

Wang Bo's intervention only minimized the death toll.

There was no helping it. Even though Wang Bo could create clones, his cheat could only fix one spatial rift at a time. It wasn't that Wang Bo wasn't capable, but that the cheat wasn't.

"I think you need an upgrade."

[...]

Seeing that matters in London were nearly settled, Wang Bo left for Tokyo, the location of the last spatial fluctuation.

In truth, Wang Bo didn't hold much hope, since the spatial fluctuation in London had already disappeared. The one in Tokyo, the last location, should have vanished too.

And indeed, that was the case.

When Wang Bo teleported to Tokyo, he sensed no spatial fluctuation. Clearly, the fluctuation here had also disappeared. Wang Bo was too late again.

But Tokyo was now engulfed in flames of war. A large group of dragons flew from all directions, wantonly destroying Tokyo's buildings.

Countless people had met their deaths in this disaster.

For a time, all of Tokyo was filled with wails and howls.

Wang Bo was somewhat stunned. He hadn't expected that this spatial fluctuation had brought a group of dragons.

But these dragons probably weren't the magic-using kind.

Because Wang Bo sensed no magical aura on them.
