Chapter 022: The Battle Ends

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第022章 战斗结束

Although Thor, the God of Thunder, had been severely wounded, he could still support himself with his axe on the arena floor, and even had enough strength left to launch a fatal attack on Hela.

Hela, on the other hand, was powerless to fight back. Half her body was split open, and all her strength was used to repair herself; the slightest mistake would mean instant death.

From any perspective, this battle was undoubtedly Thor's victory.

When he declared his victory, the entire arena erupted.

The Asgardians chanted the Thunder God's name, celebrating his triumph.

Even the elders who knew Hela found it hard to believe that the immature Thor they remembered could defeat the ruthless Hela.

Without a doubt, Thor's performance had shattered their expectations.

Loki, witnessing this, couldn't help but swallow hard. He thought that if he kept messing with his brother in the future, he might get beaten to death on the spot.

But Odin noticed Wang Bo's expression—it was not one of disappointment or the look of a failed plan.

Wang Bo was indeed not disappointed, because Hela had not yet lost.

"Do you really think you've won?"

Facing the overwhelming cheers of the audience, Hela, who could barely breathe, slowly raised her right hand, extended a finger, and pointed it at her own temple.

Thor frowned at her and couldn't help asking, "What are you doing?"

"Round two begins."

With these words, a blade of light shot from her fingertip, piercing Hela's brain.

With a thud, Hela killed herself.

Gasps rose and fell throughout the arena. Even Odin couldn't help standing up, looking at his eldest daughter.

Because he had not expected his daughter to commit suicide.

Even Thor was dumbfounded, looking up at his father Odin in confusion. Was his sister, Odin's eldest daughter, so fierce?

If she lost, she would die?

Odin frowned, his gaze involuntarily sweeping toward Wang Bo.

A faint smile bloomed on Wang Bo's lips.

Just then, a sudden change occurred. The supposedly dead Hela suddenly opened her eyes, and her severely wounded body began to heal at an astonishing speed. In just a few seconds, the blood that had flowed from her body returned to her veins, her torn flesh was stitched together by an invisible force, leaving not even a scar.

Then, Hela was resurrected at full health.

The surging power of death erupted, and the aura of death echoed through the arena, shocking everyone.

Now even a fool could see that Hela was in her prime.

The severe, near-fatal injuries she had just sustained seemed never to have happened.

The resurrected Hela stunned the entire audience. A bloody smile appeared on her pale face as she fixed her gaze on her severely wounded brother, who was supporting himself with his axe.

"Now, shall we continue?"

Thor snapped back to reality. Looking at his fully revived sister, he dragged his battered body and began to summon lightning. He would never admit defeat; he would...

Bang!

Hela merely waved her hand, and Thor, the God of Thunder, was sent flying, flipping two and a half times in the air before crashing to the ground with a thud. His vision went dark, and he fell completely unconscious.

Hela had achieved a decisive victory, but the people of Asgard did not offer the victor a warm cheer. Instead, they exchanged bewildered glances, none having expected such a dramatic reversal in the span of a single minute.

Victory and defeat were overturned in an instant.

Hela, of course, cared nothing for the crowd's cheers. Her gaze was fixed on only one person—her old father, Odin, the current king of Asgard and the All-Father.

Odin stared at Hela expressionlessly. After a moment of silence, he turned and left.

Then, the spectators in the arena gradually dispersed. Princess Loki left with her injured brother, not forgetting to take Thor's weapon—the Stormbreaker—as she went.

In just over ten minutes, only two people remained in the entire arena.

Hela and Wang Bo.

Wang Bo sat in the stands, turning his head to look at Hela as she approached him. "It seems the people of Asgard aren't too keen on a stranger becoming their king."

Hela was silent. She had been imprisoned for so long that most of Asgard had forgotten her existence.

During her imprisonment, Thor had gradually grown and gained the recognition of most Asgardians.

Even though she had defeated Thor, she still hadn't won over the majority.

But soon, Hela cast aside this trivial matter and said with a cold smile, "Whether they acknowledge it or not, I am the only one fit to be Asgard's king, and I will lead Asgard to glory."

Wang Bo glanced at her and said slowly, "How you inform Asgard is none of my business, but remember to give me the Infinity Gauntlet. That's our deal."

Hela nodded. "Fine."

The reason she had been able to come back to life was that she had made a deal with Wang Bo before the match: he would provide a resurrection item in exchange for the Infinity Gauntlet in Odin's vault.

She knew full well that the Infinity Gauntlet was a fake, so she agreed without hesitation.

Wang Bo also knew that the Infinity Gauntlet was a fake.

But that didn't mean the fake was worthless.

At first, Wang Bo thought the replica was a counterfeit, but later, when he learned that even Thanos's Infinity Gauntlet was forged by dwarves, he realized something.

Although the Infinity Gauntlet in Odin's vault was a replica, it couldn't be a mere counterfeit. It had to be a finely crafted imitation, perhaps not as powerful as the real one.

But it must still possess considerable power.

Otherwise, Odin would never have kept it in his vault.

After all, he was a skyfather-level powerhouse; ordinary fakes wouldn't catch his eye, let alone be stored in his vault.

Odin's vault contained too many treasures.

For instance, the Eternal Flame, the Casket of Ancient Winters, the Tesseract, and the Destroyer armor—all were kept in his vault.

Since the Infinity Gauntlet was also there, it proved that the gauntlet had collectible value.

That was why Wang Bo wanted to obtain it.

He had replicas of the Infinity Stones in his possession. If he could pair them with the Infinity Gauntlet and put in some effort, he might just assemble a full-stone replica Infinity Gauntlet.

Even if its power fell short of the original, it would still greatly enhance Wang Bo's strength.

Wang Bo certainly didn't want to miss that opportunity.
