Chapter 016: Emperors Take Turns

获得主角能力的我只想过平凡生活 · 第016章 皇帝轮流做

With such a powerful weapon, the Rebel Alliance would have the capital to confront the Galactic Empire.

From then on, the Rebels would no longer have to hide and flee; instead, they could pilot the Death Star and maneuver against the Galactic Empire.

After all, the Death Star's power was truly overwhelming.

"Lord Wang Bo, I have a request, though I'm not sure if I should voice it."

Obi-Wan glanced at Wang Bo and introduced, "This is Leia, daughter of Senator Bail Organa, leader of the Rebel Alliance."

Leia?

Wang Bo suddenly remembered, because the name was too familiar.

In the seventh installment of Star Wars that Wang Bo had watched, Leia also appeared, but by then she was no longer part of the Rebel Alliance but the leader of the Resistance.

This Resistance was a relatively independent military resistance movement she had formed within the New Republic. The organization was originally intended to prepare for a possible war. Although most political brokers in the New Republic tolerated the Resistance's existence, they regarded Organa and her fighters as hopeless people, unfortunately stuck in the past.

But no one expected that shortly after the New Republic was established, the First Order would rise and defeat it, making the Resistance useful, specifically targeting the First Order.

Moreover, Leia had another identity.

She was Darth Vader's daughter and Luke's sister.

Apart from the famous father-son meme "I am your father," the relationship between Luke and Leia as siblings was also widely discussed.

Even someone like Wang Bo, who hadn't watched the original trilogy, knew about it.

Because the two almost became a romantic couple, but later, when Luke learned that Leia was his sister, he painfully gave up.

However, Wang Bo hadn't expected that the two had already met, and just now, when Luke entered the prison to rescue Leia, it was a classic case of a hero saving a beauty.

Between them, there was already a faint, intangible affection.

If nothing unexpected happened, after developing for a while, this affection would likely grow into a romantic relationship.

Unfortunately, all of this was destined to be impossible because they were siblings.

But judging by their attitude toward each other, they seemed unaware.

After all, when Obi-Wan introduced Leia, he said she was the daughter of Senator Bail Organa, leader of the Rebel Alliance, not that she was Darth Vader's daughter.

From this, it seemed that Obi-Wan might also be unaware of their relationship?

Wang Bo wasn't sure whether Obi-Wan knew about the relationship between Luke and Leia or not.

From his introduction, it seemed he didn't know.

But he was Darth Vader's master, had lived in seclusion on Tatooine, the homeworld of the Skywalkers, and knew both Luke and Leia. Otherwise, he wouldn't have left Tatooine for Alderaan because of Leia's plea for help.

Saying he didn't know seemed somewhat unconvincing.

Could it be that he knew but didn't want to say?

If this continued, it might very well lead Luke and Leia into trouble.

Wang Bo's eyes flickered a few times, but in the end, he said nothing and asked nothing, addressing Leia: "What were you about to say?"

Leia said slowly, "This battle station is incredibly powerful. If our Rebel Alliance possessed it, it would greatly help in overthrowing the Galactic Empire. I wonder if you would be willing to part with it? Our Rebel Alliance is willing to pay a huge sum to purchase it from you."

Wang Bo smiled and said, "Sorry, I have no intention of selling the Death Star."

Leia was taken aback, somewhat at a loss, and glanced at Obi-Wan.

Although Obi-Wan had taught Wang Bo the Force, he did not, as a master, order Wang Bo to hand over the Death Star. He understood the principle of not imposing on others what one does not desire.

So he asked curiously, "What use does a Jedi have for the Death Star?"

Wang Bo said calmly, "To suppress all malcontents, of course."

"What do you mean?" Obi-Wan was puzzled.

Wang Bo smiled mysteriously, didn't explain, and instead said to everyone, "Come, I'll take you to tour my Death Star."

Obi-Wan and the others looked at each other, not understanding what Wang Bo was up to, but no one objected.

So Wang Bo summoned Governor Tarkin and asked him to lead their group on a tour of the Death Star.

After all, he himself didn't know much about the Death Star.

Leia was initially skeptical of Wang Bo's words, but when she saw Governor Tarkin appear, she couldn't help but freeze, because the Tarkin standing before her was far too young.

The once white-haired Governor Tarkin now looked at most in his early thirties.

With thick black hair and full of energy, if Leia hadn't seen photos of a young Governor Tarkin that looked exactly like this, she would have thought he was Tarkin's grandson.

"You..." When Leia had seen Tarkin not long ago, he was an old man.

But who would have thought that in just a few days, he had become a young man.

Although Governor Tarkin had submitted to Wang Bo, he still retained his independence and memories. Facing Leia's question, he calmly bowed to Wang Bo and said, "All of this is His Majesty's doing."

When Leia saw him bow to Wang Bo, she finally believed Wang Bo's words. From her understanding of Governor Tarkin, this man was utterly loyal to the Emperor of the Galactic Empire and would never betray him.

But now, he was willing to bow to Wang Bo.

This was enough to prove that Wang Bo had brainwashed him.

However, the words he spoke made Leia's heart race: "You call him 'His Majesty.'"

"Yes," Governor Tarkin said calmly.

"What is going on?" Leia couldn't help but look at Wang Bo. She knew who the Emperor of the Galactic Empire was, and it was definitely not Wang Bo.

Wang Bo said with a half-smile, "What do you mean? Don't you already have an idea in your heart?"

Leia's heart skipped a beat, and her face was full of shock.

Luke and Han Solo, however, were baffled, looking at each other, not understanding why Leia's expression had turned so grim.

Obi-Wan also seemed to realize something, opened his mouth as if to speak, but fell silent.

Leia took a deep breath, calmed down, and said, "Do you really intend to become the Emperor of the Galactic Empire?"

"Emperors take turns; today it's my turn. Is there a problem?"

Leia said, "How could an outsider like you become the Emperor of the Galactic Empire?"

Wang Bo said calmly, "Do you believe that?"

He, an outsider, had become the supreme commander of the Death Star; what was impossible about becoming Emperor?
